How Former Kansas Jayhawks Catcher Gets Back into Shape

I played Division I baseball for four years, from 2009-2012 for the University of Kansas. I have always eaten whatever I wanted and not worried about it because of how active I was all the time. I was the catcher for the Kansas Jayhawks so I did not feel I needed to be quick, so I did not worry about my weight. I slowly put on weight over my career as a baseball player, even with all the exercise. In the summer of 2012, I stopped playing baseball and continued to eat just like I did before, only with a lot less exercise. I started to see fast weight gain, and in a span of 1 month, I had put on 20 pounds. That was the moment I decided that I needed to change my lifestyle and lose the weight.

I started by counting up an average of how many calories per day I was consuming so I knew where I was at, and I was eating on average 10,000 calories per day! The next day I went into Complete Nutrition and picked up some Assault, Mega Shred, and DR1. The day following, I got my brother’s P90X videos and cut my calories down to 1,200 per day, stopped drinking my calories, stuck with my new way of eating for 3 months, and lost 30 pounds, going from 217 pounds to 187 pounds. I also dropped in body fat, from 25% to 16%. In the next three months, I raised my calories per day to 2,000, where I am still at today. It is convenient for me to go to the gym between classes since I’m still in school at the University of Kansas, so I now do that instead of P90X.

I worked out hard and did a lot of cardio while still watching my carbs, sugars, and fats, and staying high in protein. Three months later, I was still taking Assault and lost another 20 pounds, bringing my total weight loss to 50 pounds. I also dropped another 8% body fat, bringing that down from my starting point of 25% to 8%! I have never felt better, and am so happy I took Complete Nutrition’s products to give me that boost I needed and to get me out of my bad habits!
