Maggi: Three Tips to Help Fight Food Temptations
May 29, 2017
Battling the beast of food temptations is a struggle for almost everyone. Though your training may be going well, there are times that a sweet tooth or snacking habits get the best of you! For some, it’s chocolate, for others it’s a bag of chips. Whatever it is, there are times you need to use willpower and make a better choice. To be clear, balance should be a part of your diet, but it’s how often the indulgence occurs that matters. Healthy habits build a healthy lifestyle. Below are simple action items with big impact!
- Eat Breakfast! What we choose to eat in the morning sets the pace for the remainder of the day. It is important to nourish your awakening body with protein and fiber-rich foods instead of skipping the meal. Eating breakfast also jump starts your metabolism. Too busy? Grab some quick protein to go, such as Complete Nutrition’s Maine Roast Protein Coffee.
- Pack your meals with fruits and vegetables. It’s clear that a diet high in fruits and vegetables is beneficial. These foods are packed with nutrients and antioxidants that reduce the chance of chronic disease like cancer and diabetes. Ditch the processed sugar and salt and switch to these healthy alternatives. You can add veggies to a smoothie, muffins, or pasta…mix it up!
- Eat within 30 minutes after exercise! Many people overlook the importance of refueling your body after a workout. After exercise, your body craves nourishment because it has just depleted itself of its resources. Getting in the habit of eating healthy food post-workout will pay off. One of my favorites is Complete Nutrition’s Charge On Dark Chocolate Cherry protein bar!
